One of the Council’s strategic priorities is to “Forge collaborative relationships to maximize the use of available sector resources.” This strategy came about, in part, after discussions with area funders. Over the last two years we have fulfilled this priority through collaborative relationships with the Nonprofit Communication Network (NCN), CANBE (Community Association of Nonprofit Business Executives) and other partners on the Philanthropy Midwest Conference and an exclusive partnership with NCN on the Philly Awards.
On January 1, 2008, the Council on Philanthropy, NCN and CANBE will become one organization – an act approved by the Boards of all three organizations and approved by the members of NCN and CANBE. A formal alliance between the Council, NCN and CANBE will allow us to:
Cut administrative costs
Reduce duplication of services
Increase the reach of these important capacity-building organizations.
Individuals with current memberships in NCN or CANBE will automatically become members of the Council on Philanthropy.
If you were a member of the Council and NCN or CANBE, the latter of the two expiration dates will apply.
If your NCN or CANBE membership has expired or will expire on December 31, 2007, you can join the Council online.
Both NCN and CANBE deserve much respect and recognition for the quality of programming they have brought to our community in the area of nonprofit marketing and communications and nonprofit finance and administration. The boards of NCN and CANBE and the Council's board and staff believe strongly that as one organization we will be able to offer more educational programs, information services and networking opportunities that will make nonprofit staff and volunteers in our community stronger so you can do more for the clients and patrons you serve.
