    Thoughts on the Job Fair
“Nonprofit agencies face an ongoing challenge as they compete with the for-profit sector to attract and hire qualified employees,”says Michelle Davis, executive director of the Council on Philanthropy, which is co-sponsoring the event with Cornerstones of Care.

“I wish there had been something like this when I decided after 17 years in the for-profit world that I wanted more purposeful work,” says Starr Thurman, program coordinator for Cornerstones of Care Foster Care Case Management Program, which seeks to reunify children with parents or find resources for their adoption. “Like most nonprofit employers,” she says, “Cornerstones is always looking for better ways to recruit people. For job-seekers, the Job Fair provides a single place to not only find out what kinds of jobs are out there but to talk to people who are actually hiring.”
